Soon after taking the reins of Twitter, Elon Musk launched Twitter Blue for Business service which offers a 'gold tick' to company accounts. Online food and grocery delivery company Swiggy also got the gold badge and it celebrated the achievement in good humour. The Twitter account of Swiggy posted a picture of its new profile with the gold badge in the shape of a laddoo and wrote "our gold tick is laddoo". And it resonated with Indian foodies as laddoo is one of the most popular sweets preferred for celebratory moments.

The Twitter post also had another funny pun related to the Bollywood movie 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S', which came out in the year 2003 but still remains one of the most popular comedy movies of all time. Swiggy wrote in the caption of the post, "Carrom ramvanu, juice pivanu, majjani life" referring to a famous dialogue in the movie said by a character while drinking juice alongside playing carom board with the lead character played by Sanjay Dutt.

If you look at the gold tick on the Swiggy post closely, you'll realise it actually looks like a laddoo. A user declared it as "besan ka laddoo" in the comments. While another user thought it looked more like "pani puri" given that it has a similar colour and shape as besan ka laddoo. And also because Swiggy's profile picture has an image of pani puri in it. Meanwhile, a dietitian commented, "Dietitian's gold tick is protein-rich foods."

The Twitter Blue subscription service was announced on November 25, 2022, through a Twitter post by Elon Musk. He wrote, "Sorry for the delay, we're tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week. Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check activates. Painful, but necessary."

This is not the only time Swiggy has cracked us up and evoked foodie and movie emotions at the same time. Recently, they posted their own take on 'Kesariya' song from the Bollywood film 'Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva' and shared a collage of an orange ice candy and a hand coloured with orange (kesariya) tint from the candy.
