Healthy eating requires incorporating a variety of nutritious foods in our daily diet. Thank god, paratha is such a flexible and versatile meal that we can easily tweak the preparation method to suit our nutrition needs.

Oats are a great source of soluble and insoluble fibres that regulate the digestive system and prevent constipation.

The high-fibre and magnesium content relaxes blood vessels and keeps cholesterol levels under check. And, that's why, oats are considered one of the best foods for heart patients.

Oats are also low in calorie count, which helps greatly in losing weight in a healthy way.

Oats are also high in proteins that energise the body and keep it full and active for a long time.

Oats paratha can be made with different vegetables and spices

Oats Paratha Recipe
 

Ingredients -

1 1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
Water as per requirement
2 onions, chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
A bunch of coriander leaves, muddled
Half cup of any vegetable/vegetables of your choice - carrot, potato, cauliflower etc.

 
Method -

Step 1 - Heat a non-stick pan and place the oats on the pan. Dry roast the oats till they turn slightly yellow and emanate a nutty fragrance.

Step 2- Let the oats cool down a bit and grind them in a mixer grinder till they turn into a powdery form.

Step 3 - In a bowl, add all the ingredients together and knead dough with water.

Step 4 - Make parathas of the dough as usual and serve with yogurt, chutney, butter or pickle.

 
You can experiment with this divine paratha by making your own stuffing. You can even make a green paste of spinach, broccoli or peas and add it while kneading the dough. Make your own oats paratha and enjoy a yummy and healthful breakfast every day.
