"You guys did it. Chicken #McgrillisBack on popular demand in stores near you. You read it right, YOU WIN," wrote the official handle for McDonald's India on Instagram. Chicken McGrill is made with a drool-worthy grilled chicken patty and tangy mint sauce which ensures a burst of flavours. The burger is also being made available in the 'Big Hug' variant, that is, with an extra patty to 'double' the fun.

"Chicken McGrill has undoubtedly been one of the most loved menu items at McDonald's. We have been receiving continuous requests and feedback from our customers to bring it back and we are excited to delight our customers this festive season with their favorite burger," says Robert Hunghanfoo, Head, CPRL (Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt. Ltd.) which operates McDonald's restaurants in North and East India.

The Chicken McGrill had been taken off menus in 2019 when outlets had reopened in Delhi. This was on account of it being one of the 'least popular' items in the menu. However, an online petition filled by fans to reinstate the burger became extremely popular online. Netizens came forward to support the cause, which was supported by actor Neha Dhupia, renown comedian Abhishek Upmanyu, radio jockey and social media influencer RJ Abhinav.
