In fact, making something unique with leftover food has become the latest trend in the world of gastronomy.

Keeping up with the trend, celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has recently shared a popular recipe that he prepared with leftover rice. He took to Instagram to share a recipe video of popular Gujarati dish - muthia. For the unversed, muthia is a sack item that is traditionally made with besan, methi, salt, haldi et al. It is both steamed and fried, as per your choice. Here, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor gave the dish a unique makeover and named it leftover rice muthia. Let's find out how he prepared the dish.

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor's Leftover Rice Muthia Recipe: How To Make Leftover Rice Muthia:

First, take two cups of leftover rice. Then add half cup besan, ginger-chilli paste, coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, sugar and yogurt and mix everything together. Add a pinch of baking soda and oil and mix everything once again. Add atta and knead soft dough.

Now, take small portions of the dough and roll them into cylinders. Steam the muthias. Allow them to cool and then cut into bite-sized pieces.

Prepare a tadka of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, til, hing, curry leaves and green chillies. Add the muthias to it and saute. And your delicious leftover rice muthias are ready to be relished.
