The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival makes waves every year, attracting scores of food enthusiasts across the globe. The festival was launched in 2009 by Hong Kong Tourism Board and has gained popularity with each passing year. The year 2020 is a year of many firsts. So, for the first time ever, Wine & Dine Festival went live this time! Foodies all over the world could enjoy an epicurean journey unlike any other from the comfort of their homes, sharing interactive moments during live-streamed masterclasses.
Just like every year, Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival conducted online was a truly exceptional experience. The high-octane event started on 21 November 2020 and carried out 30 pro live sessions of Foodie Workshops and Wine & Spirits Talks!
We got an opportunity of genuine "Taste of Hong Kong" through a virtual masterclass by world-famous chef Shane Osborn. It was an honour to learn from the Michelin 2 starred chef with experience of working and owning top tiered restaurants. Chef Shane Osborn is the chef patron of Arcane & Cornerstone, both restaurants located in the heart of Central, Hong Kong. Shane also appeared on "The Final Table", a global culinary competition show by Netflix.
In the live masterclass, chef Shane Osborn took us on an exciting culinary ride by cooking and teaching Pan Seared Ora King Salmon with Taiyouran Egg Sauce Gribiche. The simple yet elegant dish can be easily replicated at home with the chef's recipe.
We tried making it at home and it turned out to be great, maybe not as great as chef's own creation. We are glad to have attended the virtual masterclass by Hong Kong Tourism Board, and are happily passing around the recipe.
