1.Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

Anushka and Virat are big-time animal lovers. In fact, the two have also invested in a Mumbai-based start-up, which is a homegrown plant-based meat brand. Explaining their life choices, Virat Kohli once took to Twitter to clarify that he is a vegetarian and not a vegan. “I never claimed to be vegan. Always mentioned I'm a vegetarian. Take a deep breath and eat your veggies (if you want),” he wrote. This tweet came after an AMA session on Instagram conducted by Virat where he revealed his diet.

2.Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza

This adorable Bollywood couple have always been strong advocates of plant-based food. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza keep sharing glimpses of their gastronomic indulgences on Instagram. And without keeping their love for a vegan diet restricted to themselves, the couple has launched a vegan food company together.

3.Bhumi Pednekar

The Raksha Bandhan actress has been vocal about her views on environment protection and climate conservation. During the lockdown, Bhumi shared that she has decided to turn vegetarian.  In a long post, Bhumi stated that she wanted to go vegetarian for many years, but it wasn't easy. “My journey with Climate Warrior taught me a lot. It made me more compassionate towards other species and made me more humble. Eating meat just doesn't feel good anymore,” Bhumi wrote. She added, “I took a decision in lockdown and did what I was contemplating to do now and one day I announced to the fam, that I'm giving up non-vegetarian food. Today, it's been a few months and I feel good, guilt-free and physically strong.”

4.Shraddha Kapoor

During the lockdown, Shraddha Kapoor also announced on Instagram that she has completed two years of turning vegetarian. Dropping a video on Instagram, she stated, “Hey guys, today I am here to tell you about what I eat. It's not just made me fitter, but also happier. Today I've finished two years of being vegetarian.” She also shared the reason that made her take this step. “I decided to turn vegetarian for my love for animals and our planet. It's made me happier and healthier. Here's celebrating 2 years of making a personal choice to #ChooseCompassion. Compassion towards animals, the environment, and myself,” added Shraddha.

Recently, Sonakshi Sinha was named ‘Person of the Year 2022,' by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The title came to her after her campaign against leather for PETA India, which amplified the message that “more than 1.4 billion cows, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, and other animals are killed in horrific ways each year to be turned into leather accessories that no one needs”. Sonakshi had previously accepted that she has lost a lot of weight after going vegan. She wishes to see a world free of animal cruelty and that's what made her switch to this kind of lifestyle.
