Here Are Three Reasons Why You Might Be Struggling To Lose Weight

1. Nutritional Deficiencies

If you have any kind of deficiencies in terms of nutrients, vitamins and minerals, then your body goes into a defence mechanism and starts collecting fat as a reserve because it is expecting you to get sick. According to Ayurvedic health coach Dr Dimple Jangda, first address the root cause of diseases and disorders before you work on losing weight.

2. Personalise Your Diet As Per Your Body Type

Diet plays a major role when you are trying to lose weight. However, if you are struggling to lose weight, it might be because the diet you are on is probably not designed as per your body type. As per Dr Jangda, you could be an Ectomorph (Vata prakriti), Mesomorph (pitta prakriti), Endomorph (kapha prakriti), dual body types like Vata-Pitta, Vata-Kapha, Pitta-Kapha or tridoshic (well balanced) body type. An ectomorph does well by eating more sweet, sour and salty foods, while a mesomorph benefits more by eating bitter, sweet and astringent foods.

3. Disruptive Gut Health

If you are trying to lose weight but your gut and colon health are not up to the mark, then you will struggle. According to Dr Jangda, your body flushes out toxins through sweat, urine and stools every day. But if your intestines and digestive system are blocked, then a lot of toxins and unhealthy bacteria get trapped in your body. So, it is always recommended to tend to your gut health before you put your mind to losing weight.
