Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner and we can't be more excited! Yes, it is that time of the year when the whole country is gearing up to celebrate one of the biggest Hindu festivals with much fun and fervour. Also called Vinayak Chaturthi, this 10-day festival signifies the arrival of Lord Ganesha on Earth to be among his devotees. The extravaganza starts with installation of pretty Ganesh idols at homes, offices and public pandals, followed by daily prayers, aarti, vrat, bhog and more. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi commences on 22nd August and ends with visarjan (immersion of the Ganesh idol) on September 1.
One of the most exciting features of this festival is all the delicious food items people prepare to offer to their beloved deity and later distribute among friends and family. These food items include a wide array of sweet and savoury dishes, unique to each region. Keeping this in mind, we bring you the recipe of delectable aloo kachori- Indian flatbread with fiery potato stuffing- that happens to be a breakfast staple in the northern part of India. What makes this recipe unique is the usage of atta, instead of maida, to knead the dough.
