Shilpa Shetty got treated to a sumptuous traditional Marwari food spread on Tuesday. The actress shared a glimpse of her dinner in a video on Instagram Stories. The delectable food items were specially curated by a Mumbai-based vegetarian restaurant. As per the card that Shilpa showed in the frame, lip-smacking dishes such as paneer kathi roll, cheese cigars and pizzas were among the specials. Gatta sabji, ker sanger, panchmela dal and satpadi roti rounded up this pack of deliciousness. A typical Rajasthani thali is incomplete without gatte ki sabzi and panchmela dal.

You can enjoy a similarly delicious Rajasthani meal at home. Gatte ki sabzi, being irreplaceable, should be on your list. It is basically gram flour dumplings soaked in a spicy gravy. This mouth-watering sabzi can be served with roti, naan or rice.

Panchmela dal, also called as panchratra or pachmel dal, is another tasty dish you must add here. The curry made in ghee is a rich mixture of five dals — arhar, chana, dhuli-urad, moong and dhuli-moong. It is filled with the goodness of ghee, fenugreek seeds, mango powder, ginger and coriander powder. You must have already guessed it is rich in proteins too.

Another known Rajasthani recipe that we did not find on Shilpa's menu, but should be on yours is ghevar. The dessert made with milk, mawa, rabdi, ghee and dry fruits is something too yummy to miss.

This was about the main course. You can also have a Jodhpuri style snack session if you have less time on hands. Mirchi vada is a common street style food you will find in this state. The spicy stuffing is mixed with potato mash and served with sauce.

Well, Shilpa's post has inspired many of us to put on the chef's hat to try something desi. Make these recipes and let us know the result.
