5 Ways To Keep Coriander Fresh At Home

Coriander, also called dhaniya, is a staple in Indian kitchens. Here are 5 ways to prevent it from going bad and keep it fresh for longer.

  • Place in jar with water

    Snip off the stem ends and place them upright in a jar with some water. Loosely cover the jar with a plastic bag, and remember to refresh the water daily.
  • Wrap in paper towel

    Wash and dry coriander leaves thoroughly and enclose them in a paper towel. Seal it in a zip-lock bag and refrigerate it for up to 7 days.
  • Chop and store

    Dry the washed coriander leaves and then clip off its stem. Soak the leaves in water and then chop them once dry. Store it in a container for two weeks.
  • Freeze chopped leaves

    After washing and patting dry the coriander leaves, chop them and freeze them for a few hours. Once frozen, transfer them to a zip-lock bag.
  • Box it up

    Clean the coriander leaves, cut off its roots and dry them. Store the leaves in a plastic container. Cover with paper towels and close the lid.
