    When it comes to biryani, there is no end to its variety, flavours and recipe. This popular dish is enjoyed across the country, and it is believed that the Mughals first introduced biryani in India. Since then, biryani holds a great significance in the history of Indian cuisine and also a special place in our hearts. Though most of us have commonly heard about the famous chicken or mutton biryani, today we bring you a handpicked speciality - the lip-smacking paneer makhani biryani. Find the step-by-step recipe below.
  • Ingredients

    10 cubes of paneer 3 cups of cooked rice 1 onion 1/4th cup of cream 1 cup of tomato puree cup of fried onions 1 tbsp almonds 1 tbsp cashew paste 2 tbsp coriander leaves 2 green chillies 3 cloves of garlic 1 tbsp of ginger
  • Ingredients

    1 cinnamon stick 5 pieces of black peppercorn 2 cardamom seeds 2 cloves tbsp. of cardamom powder tbsp. of sugar 1 tsp of cumin-coriander powder Salt as per taste tbsp. of turmeric powder tbsp. tandoori masala
  • Step 1

    Sear the paneer cubed in a pan with some oil till golden brown.
  • Step 2

    Once done, take out the paneer and add whole spices such as cinnamon, cloves, black cardamom, green cardamom, black peppercorns and mace.
  • Step 3

    Now add chopped onions, green chillies, ginger-garlic and fry for two minutes. Then throw in tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Step 4

    Add powdered masalas and the cashew paste, mix these well and add the paneer cubes-Cook for additional five-six minutes.
  • Step 5

    Using a greased baking dish or handi, layer the paneer and rice alternatively. Garnish with fried onions, nuts, fresh mint and coriander and serve hot.
