You'd think that waking up before dawn on a Sunday is every man's worst nightmare but this large group of people will beg to differ. On 20th March over 600 people made their way to Vinay Sports Complex in Delhi to take part in Lutyens Run 2016, which organized 7K, 14K and 21K runs.

The warm-up and stretching session was spearheaded by Sunita Godara, who holds the position of maximum marathon runs by any Indian. 71 full marathons, 23 half marathons and over 200 international races. If that's not inspiring, we don't know what is.

The run was organized right down to the T with more than a dozen volunteers and the Delhi traffic police which was at its absolute best.

"Running outdoor in groups can be lot of fun. It is one of the best ways to stay fit. I reiterate that you need not sprint - jog, walk, run and repeat," said co-organizer of the event, Coach Ravinder.

The route of the Lutyens Run was absolutely spectacular! It went around Ashok hotel, a handful of embassies and the lush green areas of Lutyens. It wasn't too windy, but just about enough for you to feel steady and cool.

A few sprinted towards the finish line, while the rest marched forward despite the warmth of the rising sun.

Sanjay Krishnan, one of the participants who's been running for about 3 years said,"You know what happens when you start working. No matter how much you crib, you need to make extra efforts to keep healthy and fit. I used to train and run earlier. My first marathon was a half marathon that I attempted almost two years back and I've been running ever since."

In the midst of much enthusiasm and madness we also found Smart Cooky. With its tables piled high with organic groceries, low-calorie/healthy snacks and a bunch of natural beauty products, their stall stayed abuzz.
