Though over the last year we have been focused on maintaining our health and building our immunity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a little extra effort can do no harm. Fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala posted an Instagram Reels, sharing the recipe for a home remedy, Tulsi Kadha. She posted the video along with the caption, “Today we're making an ayurvedic drink which boosts your immunity. Haldi - Tulsi Kadha.”

A kadha is a concoction of various natural herbs and roots boiled together in hot water to make a healthy drink.

To make Yasmin's haldi-tulsi kadha you will need the following ingredients:

  • Water (4 Glasses)
  • Turmeric/Haldi (1/4 Tsp)
  • Cinnamon Stick (1 Inch)
  • Tulsi Leaves (4-5)
  • Peppercorns (4-5)
  • Cloves/Lavang/Laung (2)
  • Carom Seeds/Ajwain (1/2 Tsp)
  • Cardamom/Elaichi (3)

Here's how to make it:

Boil 4 glasses of water. Add all the ingredients into the boiling water. Let it boil for 10-15 minutes until the water reduces to half its initial quantity. Remember to drink this concoction while it is still warm for it to be effective.
