Indian food is popular all around the globe. From delectable snacks and curries to traditional Indian bread, desserts and more - there's an endless list of dishes to try out there. While we all have a great fondness for Indian food, what we often ignore is the amount of effort that goes into making these yummy dishes. Indian cooking requires a whole lot of ingredients and patience to cook. And it becomes all the more interesting when other foreign nationals try to adapt to the Indian-cooking style. Recently, a video of a man from the United Kingdom making authentic Rajasthani mirchi vada went viral on the internet.
The video was shared by Instagram user Jake Dryan who goes by the handle @plantfuture. In the now-viral video, we can see him making Rajasthani mirchi vada from scratch and tasting it towards the end. What grabbed our attention is the way he mixes all the ingredients by hand instead of using a spoon or whisker. "Mirchi vada. Peppers stuffed with aloo masala and dipped in gram flour!" read the caption of the post. Take a look at the full video here:
The video has garnered over 9.1M views, 325K likes and thousands of comments (still counting). Instagram users from India were delighted with his cooking skills, and they showered praise in the comments section in huge numbers. Check out some of the reactions below:
"I really like the way you prepare those recipes. You use your hands and not any spoon or spatulas. That's the authentic way of preparing Indian food. Of course, before all of that, washing your hands is important."
"Did a lot better than many Indians."
"I must tell you, you made the batter absolute Indian mom-style with your hands. Amazing to see the authentic adaptation of your recipes."
"Just too good! You can have our citizenship already."
"The fact that you mixed the besan with your hands won my heart."
