Ingredients of Chhattisgarh's Batkar Curry
- 1 Cup Masoor dal with skin
- half cup Dahi
- 2-3 tbsp Besan
- 1 tsp Chopped onion
- Water, as needed
- 2-3 Sprigs Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 2 Whole red chillies
- A pinch of Haldi
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- Salt, as per taste
- Oil, for tadka
How to Make Chhattisgarh's Batkar Curry

Wash and soak the dal overnight.

Next day, pressure-cook the dal with some salt. Keep aside.

Take curd, besan, haldi, cumin and coriander powder and salt in a bowl. Add water and mix. Keep aside.

Heat oil in kadhai and add red chilli and mustard seeds to it. Let it splutter.
5.
Add onion and curry leaves and fry until the onion turns translucent in colour.
6.
Add the boiled dal and mix for some time.
7.
Finally add the buttermilk and simmer for 5 minutes.
8.
Sprinkle freshly chopped coriander leaves (optional) and serve.
