Ingredients of Chhokka

  • 250 Gram Potatoes (cubed), peeled
  • 250 gram Pumpkin (cubed), peeled
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Onion seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Red chillies (dried)
  • 2 Green chillies (split)
  • 1 tsp Ginger, shredded
  • 150 ml Curd
  • 1/4 tsp Coriander powder
  • 4 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • to taste Rock salt

How to Make Chhokka

  • 1.Shallow fry the potatoes and pumpkin in oil.
  • 2.Remove from the pan.
  • 3.Add all the spices except coriander and cumin powder in the same pan.
  • 4.Cook for a few minutes and add the curd.
  • 5.Replace the vegetables into the pan.
  • 6.Add the sugar and seasoning. Cook until tender.
  • 7.Garnish with coriander and cumin powder.
