Italian and North Indian are no longer the only two options for Indian diners. Slowly and steadily, pan-Asian cuisine too has made its presence felt in the Indian restaurant scene. With this evolved palate, we have seen a growing fondness for dishes such as sushi, dim sum, and even curries. The experimental wave of dining out is evident from the opening of many new restaurants in the GK-II M-block market in the recent past. And NAO by Bercos is the latest addition to this bustling and vibrant South Delhi market.
With an expansive menu spanning across countries, NAO or Next Asian Outing is backed by the legendary team of Berco's. Berco's has been long-standing as one of the most famous restaurants of Delhi-NCR, especially for family outings. This time, with NAO, the team has moved beyond desi Chinese and incorporated some interesting items from different Asian cuisines. The modern and vibrant interiors make for stunning pictures worthy of the 'gram. LED lighting, Asian motifs and artworks, and some beautiful lighting add to the charm of the place. We sat in the outdoor area with a pebble-stone floor, some indoor plants and a deep green-coloured graffiti wall. The music was a bit loud for our taste, but the manager Mr. Deepak instantly got that sorted.

We kicked off our meal with the Glass Noodle Spring Rolls served with a sweet chilli dip. You just can't go wrong with this one! Another highly recommended dish is the Sweet Basil and Potato Crispies, thinly-spiced crispy potatoes tossed in honey basil and spicy sauce. It is just too addictive and you can't have enough of it. NAO also met our expectations in the Sushi and Dim Sum department - we tried the Asparagus Cream Cheese Sushi Roll as well as Four Seasons Dim Sums. Both were beautifully presented, tasted great and had some tasty oils and dips as accompaniments.
One interesting dish at the restaurant was the Tom Yum Spaghetti, which tossed the Italian favourite in a melange of thai sauces and spices. Sounds strange at first, but trust us, it was immensely satisfying. The Stone Bowl with noodles and Korean chilli sauce was also an interesting concept but needs some more work in terms of balancing the intensity and flavours of the sauce with the right proportion of noodles. In soups and drinks, the Asparagus Edamame and Corn Soup soothed our senses while the Ginger Beer made our meal at NAO a refreshing one.
Lastly, we brought a sweet end to our meal with the luscious Biscoff Baked Cheesecake. It was indeed a wonderful feast that left our stomachs full and our tastebuds thoroughly satisfied. We'd surely recommend all pan-Asian food lovers to try NAO for a memorable experience!
