When in doubt about what to eat, we often turn to pizza. The tanginess of the tomato sauce, the delectable layers of cheese and the comforting taste of the bread base never let us down. Of course, the best thing is we can also choose to use whichever toppings we enjoy. But when cravings hit, we don't always have the time and energy to make a pizza from scratch. Sometimes, it is not even possible to run down to the shop and get ready-made bases. Thankfully, you can make bread pizza in times like these. 'Bread pizza' refers to using regular bread in place of the pizza base. Find out what you need to do in order to make it properly:

Here Are 5 Key Tips For Making Perfect Bread Pizza At Home:
Tip 1: Choose the right type of bread
If you're using bread slices, it is important to choose thick ones. If they are too soft and/or thin, they might not be able to hold the weight of the toppings. You can use any type of sliced bread according to your taste, including garlic bread, brown bread, multigrain bread, etc. Just make sure they are not soft/ have gaps in the middle. If you're using bread buns, cut off the top neatly and use the thick bottom as your pizza base.
Tip 2: Don't remove the edges of the bread slices
Some bread-based snack recipes, like bread rolls, require the edges to be cut off. However, this is not the case with bread pizza. Here, the edges of the bread slices can help maintain the shape of the base. They will also help you transfer the bread to the pan/ tawa/ oven more easily.
Tip 3: Lightly toast the bread on one side first
Before you spread tomato sauce/ paste on top of the bread, roast one side of it in a pan. Don't use butter or ghee - just use low heat to solidify the bread surface slightly. Then take the slice off the stove and spread the sauce on that same side. Roasting the bread in this way allows it to carry the remaining ingredients on top without breaking.
Tip 4: Avoid going overboard with toppings
Bread pizzas are meant to be mini treats, so don't overload them. Veggies, cheese, paneer/ chicken/ tofu can all be used as toppings. Chop them finely before adding them. Don't forget to season the pizza with some dried oregano, chilli flakes and mixed herbs.
Tip 5: Cook the bread pizza on low flame
You can choose to bake these bread pizzas or cook them on a stovetop. In the case of the latter, heat some butter on a tawa/ skillet/ pan and carefully place the loaded bread slice on top. Cover and cook on low heat until you see the cheese melt. Take care not to increase the heat too much, or the bread will burn from below.
