"MY GO-TO MEAL. I have many different favourite foods, but the meal I always come back to is a yiros (or gyro)," Kayla Itsines wrote in her post. A Yiros or a Gyro is a Greek-origin dish which is essentially a sandwich-like preparation made with slices of meat, tomato, onion, and yogurt sauce on a Pita base. The Greek sandwich features chicken or lamb meat which is marinated for some time before being grilled or baked. The Tzatziki sauce made with cucumbers, garlic and yogurt is also a refreshing condiment added to this delicious and wholesome meal.

Fitness trainer Kayla Itsines received 48k likes for her post from her 12.3 million-strong Instagram following. Explaining why it's her favourite meal, she wrote, "The thing I love about yiros (apart from the fact that it is a delicious meal and it reminds me of my childhood) is that it is actually really BALANCED. It contains a mix of protein, vegetables and carbs, so it fills you up while also helping you to get your vegetable intake up!"

This is not the only time Kayla Itsines has shared healthy, balanced meals from her culinary repertoire. Take a look at some of her other recipe posts:
