It is commonly said that Indians are fond of opulence. From jewellery to flashy cars, clothes to even phones - we love to go that extra mile for a dash of glitter on our belongings! Thus, it comes as no surprise that we don't mind a touch of shine on our food as well. While silver varq was always a feature of traditional sweets, even gold-plated sweets have been trending in the recent past. A sweet shop in Nashik has created special gold-plated sweets for the occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2022, according to ANI. Can you guess what these sweet delights are priced at? Take a look and see for yourself.
The festive season is in full swing in India and we have a number of festivals lined up such as Rakhi, Janmashtami and more. In Nashik, a sweet shop decided to do things differently and created gold-plated sweets for customers. These shiny indulgences have hit the shelves for Rs 6,000 per kg ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival, as per ANI.
This is not the only gold-plated dessert that we have seen in the recent past. Previously, a gold-plated ghevar had also surfaced on Twitter. Braj Rasayan Mitthan Bhandar in Agra has prepared the monsoon special sweet in an all-new avatar - with gold varq lined on top. The delicious Rajasthani sweet is priced at a humongous cost of Rs. 25,000 per kg!
