Bhagyashree is bringing a taste of Kashi to the kitchen with a traditional UP recipe she picked up during her visit. The actress has shared how to make Nimona, a comfort dish made with fresh green peas, potatoes and a flavourful green masala.
Bhagyashree started by preparing a green masala with coriander, garlic, green chillies and ginger. She then fried potatoes in two tablespoons of oil while grinding two bowls of green peas separately. The fried potatoes were then topped with bay leaves, black cardamom, cumin seeds, chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric and a little red chilli powder before mixing in the green masala.
Once the spices were cooked, Bhagyashree added the ground green peas along with half a bowl of water and let the mixture cook. "This is UP's Nimona. It has vitamins A, C and K which is very important for eyes, immunity and bone health," she concluded.
