Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated 'Prasadam,' the nation's first healthy and hygienic food street. The inauguration ceremony took place at Neelkanth Van, Mahakal Lok, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Health Minister stated, “Mahakal's 'Prasadam' inaugurated the country's first Healthy and Hygienic Food Street 'Prasadam' in Ujjain with the CM Dr Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh. This street will provide pure and clean food to the devotees. Whenever you go to see Baba, you must take Prasad in Prasadam.”

महाकाल का 'प्रसादम'

Dr Mandaviya further said in a press release, “PRASADAM will connect common citizens in every corner of the country with pure and safe local and traditional food. This endeavour will align common people and tourists to safe and healthy eating habits.”
He was accompanied by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr Mohan Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, Minister of State for Public Health and Family Welfare Narendra Shivaji Patel, and Member of Lok Sabha Anil Firojiya, for the Inauguration.
Praising the Food Street initiative “Prasadam", Dr Yadav highlighted its role in ensuring clean and healthy food for all, contributing to a healthier nation. Spanning 939 square metres, "Prasadam" offers diverse dining options near the Mahakaleshwar Temple, aiming to boost tourism, preserve traditions, and foster community engagement. The food street, comprising 17 shops, is designed to provide various facilities, including a kids' play area, drinking water facility, CCTV surveillance, parking, public conveniences, and seating spaces.
Dr Mandaviya and Dr Yadav jointly inaugurated 17 civil works, including health units and labs. They also launched the Mannhit app for mental health screening. The event also saw the release of "The DART Book" by FSSAI for at-home food adulteration tests and the launch of a mobile food testing van called Food Safety on Wheels. Various dignitaries attended the event.
