Ingredients of Balekai Podi

  • 2 Raw banana
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup gram flour
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Oil (to deep fry)
  • Water (as needed)

How to Make Balekai Podi

Add all the flours, salt and spices together in a bowl. Mix them well.

Now pour water to it as needed and make a smooth batter by mixing well.
3.
Peel and slice the bananas into thick circular portions.
4.
Now heat the oil, dip each slice of the bananas into the flour batter and coat it completely. Deep-fry the slice into hot oil.
5.
Fry till both the sides turn golden and crisp
6.
Serve hot with your choice of chutney.
