A quick and crunchy snack made with cereals, sev, dried figs, wafers and topped with a tempting tadka.

Ingredients of Homemade Chivda

  • 1 cup unsweetened corn flakes
  • 1 cup wheat flakes
  • 1 cup kurmura
  • 1 cup Bikaneri sev
  • 1/2 cup dried figs chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots chopped
  • 1 packet masala flavour potato chips
  • For the tadka:
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp hing
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/3 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/3 tsp jeera powder
  • Amchoor powder for taste
  • 1 dried red chilli
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Black salt to taste

How to Make Homemade Chivda

  • 1.In a large bowl mix all the cereals, sev, kurmura, wafers.
  • 2.Heat up the oil in a wok, add the tempering ingredients and fry for 30 seconds.
  • 3.Then add the cereal mix and toss well so that they are well coated with the Tadka.
  • 4.Serve it.
  • 5.Note: You can add peanuts for taste.
