It was the best Mother's Day I could have asked for. I had the pleasure of experiencing a memorable stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort near Delhi, during the Mother's Day weekend. Accompanied by my husband and child, we were eager to indulge in the special Mother's Day brunch at The Aravali Kitchen, where all the recipes were curated by the skilled culinary team's moms and grandmoms. Little did we know that this delightful feast would be just the beginning of an extraordinary experience.
The Special Mother's Day Brunch:
Upon entering The Aravali Kitchen, the inviting aromas wafting through the air welcomed us with open arms. The Sunday brunch was an absolute culinary extravaganza, offering an extensive menu featuring a diverse range of cuisines from around the world. From traditional Indian delicacies like maa ki dal, biryani, murg tawa masala, saag gosht, dal makhani, and paneer do pyaza to tantalising Asian dishes such as Thai chilli basil, Shanghai noodles, kung pao tofu, and Hong Kong sweet and sour sole fish, there was something to satisfy every palate. The Italian and Oriental cuisines also left a lasting impression, with mushroom risotto, roasted chicken, and roasted duck showcasing the chef's expertise.
To cater to the younger guests, a dedicated Kid's section was created, offering light and kid-friendly meals like noodles, moong dal, pasta, and idli. It was heartwarming to see the joy on my child's face as she savoured these delightful treats specially prepared for kids.
The dessert section was an ode to all the incredible mothers out there, with special cakes adorned with the word 'mom.' The variety of desserts was simply irresistible, featuring mango baked tart, red velvet pastry, umali pudding, sugar-free papaya kheer, and chum chum, among others. Each bite was a heavenly delight that left a sweet taste lingering on our tongues.
The culinary experience didn't end with the Sunday brunch. The dinner buffet at Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort was a delightful continuation, offering an array of options ranging from North Indian cuisine to Chinese dishes and smoky grills. Additionally, a selection of salads was available, ensuring that every guest's preferences were met.
The Literary Retreat
Beyond the culinary indulgences, the resort had a special surprise in store for Mother's Day. A literary retreat, organised by Quill and Canvas, added a unique touch to the occasion. The retreat was divided into two sessions, with the morning featuring authors Pooja Pandey and Haimanti Mitra sharing their delightful children's books. The session was made even more engaging with interactive activities that captivated the young minds present. It was a fun event for parents and their kids.
After the scrumptious lunch, author Reema Ahmad delved into her book on parenting, titled 'Unparenting.' The session was both informative and enjoyable, with lively discussions on common parenting challenges and strategies to overcome them. Author Zejra Naqvi then presented her book, 'The Reluctant Mother,' shedding light on the struggles faced by new mothers and the sacrifices they make. It was an eye-opening experience that left us with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the journey of motherhood.
Throughout our stay at Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort, relaxation was the order of the day. The beautiful resort provided a tranquil setting for family bonding, while the expansive pool offered breathtaking views and endless fun for our child. We couldn't help but revel in the joy of spending quality time together and creating cherished memories.
After a truly rejuvenating day, the breakfast buffet the next morning gave a fresh start to the day with the choicest of continental foods, cereals, and typical Indian classics like parathas and dosas. Desserts, again, were plenty and my child couldn't have been happier.
Our stay at Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort during the Mother's Day weekend was truly unforgettable. The sumptuous Mother's Day brunch at The Aravali Kitchen, the wide array of mouthwatering dishes, and the engaging literary retreat all contributed to a remarkable experience. This resort is undoubtedly the ideal destination for a family getaway, combining relaxation, indulgence, and opportunities for personal growth. We left with our hearts full, grateful for the memories we had created and the moments we had shared at this remarkable retreat.
