World Arthritis Day is celebrated every year on October 12th to raise awareness about one of the prevalent health conditions. One of the most common health conditions that come with age is perhaps arthritis (or joint pain). Arthritis is one of the conditions of joint pain, where there is an inflammation in the joints that affects one or multiple joints. Most common in adults above the age of 60-65 years, joint pain cases are attributed to weak bones, excessive weight, lack of nutrients, an injury or wrong posture. While the pain in arthritis is gruesome, it can get worse during the winter season. The cold only adds up to swelling and stiffness of the joints.
While there is no permanent cure for the condition, many health experts suggest certain tweak in the diet, which may help to manage the condition. Besides regular exercise, certain prescribed medications and physiotherapy, our diet plays a major role in managing joint pain due to arthritis. “Certain foods have been discovered to battle the inflammation, strengthen the bones and lift up the immune system.
