India shooter Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics on Sunday. This achievement made her the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal. Manu Bhaker's bronze medal was India's first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 22-year-old scored 221.7 in the eight-woman final to secure the third spot. Oh Ye-jin from the Republic of Korea won the gold medal with a new Olympic record score of 243.2. Her compatriot Yeji Kim claimed the silver with a score of 241.3, narrowly edging out Bhaker by 0.1 point.
Speaking to NDTV after the historic win, Manu Bhaker said, “ "I am happy that I never gave up during tough times.”
