Christmas is one festival that we all looked forward to as kids. From decorating the Christmas tree, baking desserts to sharing meals with family and friends, the festive fervour around this time of the year always got us excited. However, the most exciting part of Christmas festivities was waiting for Santa Claus to arrive. And at some point, most children have questioned whether or not Santa is real. Recently, a young girl in the US had a similar doubt and decided to do something about it by taking the help of science.

According to NPR, a young girl from the town of Cumberland, wrote to her local police department to see if they can test leftover carrots and cookies for DNA to prove the existence of Santa Claus. "I took a sample of a cookie and carrots that I left for Santa and the reindeer on Christmas Eve and I was wondering if you could take a sample of DNA and see if Santa is real?" the girl wrote. The Cumberland Police Department said that it is awaiting the test results, and asked residents to stay tuned for more information. While the department awaits the testing results, it has been in contact with this future CPD Detective and provided her with "some already uncovered evidence in support of Santa Claus' presence in her neighbourhood the night of December 24th, 2022, a photo of what appeared to be a deer with antlers."
