I think we all can agree that proposing to someone can be nerve-wracking. From making all kinds of big gestures to limiting it to a private affair, we wish to make that moment so memorable that it always stays etched in our hearts. However, there are also times when a proposal might go wrong and become a nightmare. Recently, a similar thing happened to a man from Johannesburg, South Africa. The man decided to pull off a surprise proposal for his girlfriend in the middle of a busy McDonald's eatery. But soon, things took a different turn from there.
In the video uploaded by Twitter user @Madame_Fosette, which was captioned, "Witnessed such a sad situation today," we can see a woman standing in front of the cash counter and a man on his knees behind her. As the woman turns around to see, she looks at the man in disbelief and can be seen shaking her head. Then further in the video, it seems like they both got into an argument, and the woman leaves the place, while the man just stands there. The proposal was being recorded by numerous people standing inside McDonald's. Check out the full video here:
The clip, which was posted on Twitter, has gone viral since then. It has received 3.7 million views, 66.3K likes and 10.8K retweets. Many people have also replied to the video. One person said, "Man proposed at a McDonald's and expected her to say...yes?? Does he think he's in the Tyler Perry cinematic universe." Another person said, "Public proposals in front of tons of strangers seems a bit manipulative to me and there's nothing romantic about it. The lady has her reasons, I'm glad she rejected." Someone also said, "Before ever proposing to your partner as a guy, have conversations fellas. Take hints about what she likes and dislikes. Women may love a public proposal but it all depends where & when."
Many also mentioned that they could not understand what was happening in the video and had to look at it more than twice. One person said, "Did not even notice the man with a ring, had to look at the comments." Another person said, "The man isn't even visible in the crowd."
