'Hygiene' is possibly the most trending word today, especially in the post-covid era. We check the hygiene level of every morsel of food we eat. Hence, you will find people often ditching the street-side foods and opting for restaurants, hoping the latter meets the hygiene level. But have you ever checked what goes on a professional kitchen? Whether they maintain the hygiene level or not? While we agree most of the restaurants do maintain the hygiene, some fail to consider it. One such incident from Chennai recently came to light. A popular vegetarian restaurant in the city allegedly had worms crawling in their food. You heard us!
According to a report on Asianet News, a woman identified as Rani, recently stated that she went to a restaurant named 'Namma Vidya Vasantha Bhavan' in Chennai and ordered for chhole-puri. But, when the food arrived, she noticed a worm crawling in the food. The sight instantly made her scream! News18 further reports that the woman filed a complaint against the restaurant to the Food Safety Department, who then carried out a thorough inspection.
Reportedly, the food safety officials have taken prompt action against the same and imposed a temporary ban on the operation of the restaurant. They also issued a warning against the restaurant owners.
In a similar incident last month, a person found live lizard in bhatura at the food court in Elante Mall, Chandigarh. The person spoke about the incident in a tweet and wrote:
