Ingredients of Ashoka Halwa
- 2 Cups moong dal
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/2 cup sugar
- A pinch of saffron
- 1 tsp cadamom powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 2 tbsp cashews (optional)
- 2 tbsp raisins (optional)
How to Make Ashoka Halwa

Pressure cook moong dal with about 1 tsp of ghee and water until about 4 whistles.

Cool and blend the dal to a smooth paste. Keep it aside.

Meanwhile, roast wheat flour and cardamom powder together until it is lump-free. Roast cashews separately.

Add this mix to the pressure cooked dal and cook until it thickens, for about 15 minutes.

Cook until it turns glossy. Top it with roasted nuts and sertve hot.
