Ingredients of Birbal Ki Khichdi
- 500 gms Dalia
- 100 gms Chana dal
- 100 gms Urad dal wash
- 200 gms Moong dal
- 300 gms Boiled rice
- 100 ml Ghee
- 2 gms Jeera
- 15 gram Chopped garlic
- 8 gram Chopped ginger
- 70 gram Beans julienne
- 70 gram Carrot julienne
- 40 gram Fried onion
- A pinch of Turmeric powder
- A pinch of Deggi mirch
- 15 gram Ajwain
- 10 gram Kasoori methi
- 10 gram Fresh mint leaves
- To taste Salt
How to Make Birbal Ki Khichdi

Mix urad dal white, moong and channa dal throughly, wash and rinse well. Keep it to boil along with boiled rice and broken wheat. Keep stirring behind boils to make sure that it is not getting burnt from the base.

We will soon see that the consistency of Khichdi starts to get thickened.

As soon as the dal along with broken wheat and rice gets emulsified then shut the gas and store it at a cool place.

In another pan, add ghee and cumin seeds. Once it starts to crackle add chopped garlic and ginger, julienne of haricot beans and carrots.

Sauté the mixture nicely then add khichdi along with fresh mint leaves, brown onion, turmeric and deggi mirch powder.

Mix everything together and allow it to cook until you get a greasy texture.

Finally add salt and ajwain as per your palate and do not forget to finish it with lots of ghee. Now enjoy it.
