Traditionally made with wheat flour, this malpua recipe is made using bread slices. The dough is flattened and filled with an aromatic filling of kesar, cardamom and sugar syrup. This bread malpua recipe is sure to leave you drooling!

Ingredients of Bread Malpua

  • 5-6 Bread Slices (white bread)
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • Desi Ghee (for frying)
  • For Filling:
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • A pinch of Kesar
  • 1/2 tsp Elaichi Powder

How to Make Bread Malpua

Heat ghee in a pan, add nuts and wait until they turn golden. Now, take khoya, sugar and nuts in a bowl and mix well. Keep aside.

For the sugar syrup, boil water in a saucepan, add sugar and let it dissolve in the water. Then add saffron, cardamom powder for the flavours and aroma.

Remove the corners of bread and cut it into small pieces. Add milk gradually and knead a soft dough.

Take a small portion from the dough and flatten it gently. Take a spoonful of prepared filling, place that in between the dough and bring it together and seal the edges.
5.
Flatten it gently. Continue the same with remaining dough.
6.
Heat oil in a pan, deep fry all the pieces. Remove the excess oil with tissues and add to syrup, coat it on both sides for just a few seconds.
7.
Take it out and serve.
