Ingredients of Chiku Ice Cream

  • 10 chikus (sapota/ sapodilla)
  • 1/2 Cup fresh cream
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 300 Ml milk (full fat)
  • 1/2 Cup milk powder

How to Make Chiku Ice Cream

Clean and peel the chikus. Remove their seeds and dice them.

Place the chiku pieces in a mixer and blend to form a puree.

In a large bowl, add the milk, milk powder, cream and sugar. Using a hand mixer/ whisk, combine the ingredients well. Take care to avoid lumps.

Add the chiku puree to this mixture and blend well. (Alternatively, you can blend all ingredients using a stand mixer).

Once blended, transfer the ice cream mix to an airtight container and freeze it. After 2 hours, blend the ice cream base again and refreeze in the same container.
6.
After around 3 hours, remove the ice cream base and churn it again.
7.
Freeze it in the airtight container for 8-10 hours. Enjoy chilled and garnish with extra chiku pieces.
