An unusual Indian dessert made with cholia (hara chana), cream, milk and khoya.

Ingredients of Cholia Halwa

  • 150 Gram Pure ghee
  • 1/2 kg Chholia (coarsely ground)
  • 300 gram Sugar
  • 1/2 litre Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cardamom seeds
  • To finish:
  • 2 tbsp Nuts and dried fruit
  • 2 tbsp Cream
  • 1 tbsp Crumbled khoya

How to Make Cholia Halwa

  • 1.Heat ghee in a pan and add cholia paste.
  • 2.Stir over a gentle flame until mixture reduces and ghee separates.
  • 3.Add sugar, milk and cardamom to the pan.
  • 4.Simmer till liquid evaporates.
  • 5.Serve decorated with dried fruit, cream and khoya.
