We all love dhaba ka khana, the tantalizing flavour of these spicy curries are what makes our mouth water. But we all can’t visit a dhaba every time we crave their food! That is why we have found this delectable recipe of dhaba-style paneer that will bring you the best of dhaba flavour and paneer.

Ingredients of Dhaba-Style Paneer

  • 250 gms Paneer
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 pinches Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 2 Cinamon Sticks
  • 3 Pods Crushed Cardamom
  • 5 Cloves
  • 6 Pepper Corns
  • 1 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 2 Dry Red Chillies
  • 3 Finely Chopped Onion
  • 6 Cloves Finely Chopped Garlic
  • 3 Slit Green Chillies
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Lal Mirch Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 tbsp Gram Flour/Besan
  • 3 Grated Tomato
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala

How to Make Dhaba-Style Paneer

Take 250 grams of Paneer and cut into cubes or any shape.

Now to marinate the paneer add 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp of garam masala, and 2 pinches of turmeric powder, and toss paneer well.

Place a pan on medium flame and add 2 tbsp of ghee and melt. Add tossed Paneer in the pan and roast well on all sides for 2 minutes.

Place another pan on medium flame and add 2 tbsp of oil and 1 tbsp of ghee and heat.

Now add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 crushed cardamom, 5 cloves, 6 peppercorns, 1 tsp of coriander seeds, 3 dry red chillies.

Saute on low flame until aromatic. Now add 3 finely chopped onions and saute until golden.

After onion sautes well add 1 inch of grated ginger, 6 finely chopped garlic cloves, and roast everything.

Now add 3 slits of green chilli, 1 tbsp of coriander powder, 1 tbsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, 2 tbsp of gram flour/ Besan.

Mix everything and saute well on low flame until aromatic. Add 3 Grated Tomato, salt as per taste, and mix everything well.

Now put a lid on it and cook for 2 minutes until it starts releasing oil. Then add 2 to 3 tbsp of water and cook and mix well.

Turn the flame low and add 1/2 cup of curd and mix well continuously stirring for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add 1 tsp of crushed Kasuri methi, 1 tsp of garam masala, and mix well.

Now add water as required and mix well and close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
13.
Add roasted Paneer to it and mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Now turn off the flame and add finely chopped coriander.
14.
Paneer Masala is ready to serve and you can enjoy it.
