Ingredients of Lasooni Dahi Tadka

  • 3 cups thick yoghurt, whisked
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 10-12 garlic pods, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilis, slit from between (as per taste levels)
  • Hing
  • Dry herbs
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • Salt (as per taste levels)
  • Chopped coriander leaves (for garnish)
  • Slivered ginger

How to Make Lasooni Dahi Tadka

In a pan, heat some oil. Then add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Give it a gentle stir before adding cumin seeds in the same pan.

Now add chopped onion and garlic to the oil and saute until it's golden brown. To this, add spices – hing, turmeric powder, and green chillies. Mix well so that the spices are well coated on the veggies. Cook for well for a minute.

Switch off the burner and take the pan off it. Let the mixture cool down for 2-3 minutes. Now gently add whisked yoghurt to the pan while stirring continuously. Make sure not to add the yoghurt all at once to avoid curdling.

Mix the yoghurt well with the garlic and onion tempering so that it changes its colour to light red. Now add salt, sugar, and dry herbs to it.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and slivered ginger. And voila! Your Lasooni dahi tadka is ready to serve!
