Ingredients of Open Beetroot Sandwich

  • 1 French bread (halved length-wise)
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil / melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic, chopped
  • To season Pepper
  • 250 Gram Cooked beetroot (peeled), sliced
  • Handful Young beetroot leaves
  • Red wine/ vinegar
  • A squeeze of Lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 150 Gram Sauteed mushrooms-sliced
  • 1 Apple, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Basil leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 100 Gram Cheese, sliced
  • To finish Olive oil

How to Make Open Beetroot Sandwich

  • 1.Brush the bread with oil mixed with garlic.
  • 2.Sprinkle with pepper. Place under a grill to color.
  • 3.Set beetroot slices aside.
  • 4.Toss beetroot leaves in a pan with wine, lemon juice and oil.
  • 5.Allow it to wilt over a moderate flame.
  • 6.Toss apple and basil in hot oil. Season.
  • 7.Saute the mushrooms in some butter.
  • 8.Arrange all ingredients on the bread in any order.
  • 9.Serve immediately with a sprinkling of olive oil over the top.
