Prawn Sesame Toast

Prawn and spice mixture topped on bread slices, coated with sesame and fried golden.

Ingredients of Prawn Sesame Toast

  • 4 prawns
  • 4 bread slices
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 cup of sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 Tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp red chili, de-seeded and finely chopped
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

How to Make Prawn Sesame Toast

  • 1.Gently pound the prawns and fish sauce till the prawns are finely mashed.
  • 2.Add the red chilli, coriander and garlic, mix well.
  • 3.Cut out three small circles in each bread slice by using ring mould.
  • 4.Neatly top each circle with a generous amount of prawn mixture.
  • 5.Dip the bread from the topping side into the sesame seeds.
  • 6.Then deep fry till it is golden brown in color.
  • 7.Serve hot.
  • 8.Tip: I normally like to add just a wee bit of palm sugar in the prawn mixture, and in case you find the mixture falling off the bread, when you are frying, just add a tsp of egg yolk to the prawn mixture to bind it together.
