How to make Tikri Mutton Curry

Tikri mutton curry (or tikri ka meat) is prepared by using succulent mutton pieces, green chillies, ginger, garlic, onions, turmeric, red chilli powder, cardamoms, cumin, cloves, coriander seeds and a host of other piquant spices.

Ingredients of Tikri Mutton Curry

  • 500 gms Mutton
  • 2 Onion (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1-2 Green Chillies
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 tbsp Refined oil
  • tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • Salt

How to Make Tikri Mutton Curry

Take a bowl, add mutton pieces and marinate it with refined oil, turmeric, red chilli powder. Mix everything then add salt and mix again.

Keep it aside for 30-40 minutes.

Meanwhile, grind cardamom, cloves, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, pepper and garlic together. After that, grind a handful of coriander along with 2 green chillies, 3 cloves of garlic, 1 inch ginger, along with 2 tbsp of oil and salt.

Heat oil in a kadhai, add chopped onion and wait until translucent then add grinded powder along with some water.

Cook till the oil begins to separate from masala, and then, add the marinated mutton pieces.

Mix everything, taste and then adjust the salt accordingly.

Now, add the prepared chilli and coriander paste.
8.
Cover the lid and let it cook for about one hour and then transfer it to a serving dish.
9.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and enjoy the delicious Tikri Masala with roti or rice.
