About Tom Yum Soup : Tom yum soup is the most well-known recipe in the category of Thai Soups. Generally, it includes shrimps but a vegetarian version is also very delightful. It is very quick and easy to make and also enriched with aromatic flavours that make it a healthy yet delicious salad.

Ingredients of Tom Yum Soup

  • 300 gms Chicken/Prawns/Vegetable
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1.2 litre Water/stock
  • 3 small Red Chilli
  • 4 cloves Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Soya Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar

How to Make Tom Yum Soup

  • 1.Pound chilli, ginger, and garlic
  • 2.Take water or stock in a pan and add the pounded mixture and onion to the pan and bring the water to boil.
  • 3.Add vegetable or chicken or prawn. Cover, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, until broth has reduced slightly.
  • 4.Season it with salt to taste, sugar, and soya sauce and finish it with lemon juice.

Recipe Notes

You can also make a vegetarian version of tom yum soup by adding mushrooms, carrots and french beans.
