Ingredients of Tomato Besan Veg Omelette

  • 1 Cup besan
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, grated
  • 1 tomato (sliced round)
  • 1 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ ajwain
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Ghee/ oil for pan frying
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Tomato Besan Veg Omelette

In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the sliced tomato with around 1 cup of water to form a thick batter. Cover and keep aside for ten minutes.
Grease a pan or tawa with ghee and evenly spread around 2 ladles of the batter on it. Make a thin circular shape.
Add 2-3 tomato slices on top. Spread additional ghee around the edges. Cover and let it cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
Then flip it over, add more ghee around the omelette and increase the heat to medium. Cook for another 5 minutes, uncovered.
Your veg omelette is ready. Serve hot with ketchup and/or hari chutney. You can also relish it with buttered bread.
