When it comes to Chinese food, we love loading up to our heart's content. Be it a busy workday or a weekend binge, Chinese food serves as the ultimate pick-me-up. Just like any other global cuisine - Indians have adapted Chinese food to suit their palates. If you are planning to head out for a lavish Chinese meal, we have found the ultimate place to be. Royal China is a great option for Chinese food lovers and there are many reasons why.
The first thing that appealed to us at Royal China was the location - we visited the new outlet in DLF Chanakya mall. Situated in the heart of Delhi in Chanakyapuri, Royal China is a short drive away from most prominent landmarks in central Delhi. No parking hassles either! A cursory glance at the moody, dark interiors whisks us away to a different land away from the hustle-bustle of the city. Beautiful wall paintings, Chinese paintings, inscriptions and red lanterns complete the vibe. Crowds slowly poured in as the hours progressed, and the restaurant was completely jam-packed with families and friends.
Royal China had curated a chef's special menu for us. We started our meal with the satiating Sweet Corn and Hot and Sour soups. Moving on to the second course, we sampled two Dimsum baskets - the Vegetable Chive Dumpling and the Spinach Cheese Dimsum. While the chive dumpling was slightly different, the spinach-cheese one was indeed comforting and binge-worthy. In the appetiser section, we tried the Vegetable Spring Rolls which were crisp and thoroughly enjoyable.
In the fourth and main course, there was a very interesting dish called Crispy Seaweed. Seaweed was deep fried until crisp, and coated with a wonderful Chinese spice mix that was tangy and flavourful in one. We'd highly recommend trying it! There was also the delicious Sauteed Greens with Black Mushroom whose every bite was enjoyable. The Hakka Noodles were also mildly spiced and not overdone either.
If you thought the food was tasty, wait till you try the desserts at Royal China! Their Honey Noodles with Ice Cream simply blew us away. The crispy noodles were fried just right, coated with white sesame and honey and topped with vanilla ice cream. It brought a sweet end to our memorable meal.
So, head to Royal China for an unmissable feast capturing the essence of China!
