A magnificently heated jungle of concrete, garnished with buzzing traffic and a liberal dash of deafening noise served with generous amounts of air pollution which can leave snow white looking like yogi bear by the end of the day. That isn't exactly my thing so I ducked into white waters, a newly launched lounge & cafe in Connaught place, hoping to appease my irritably tired self, and I wasn't disappointed to say the least. My self appeasement started with a kiwi and lemon smoothie (Rs. 145), and went on to a watermelon iced tea (Rs. 95), and in a nutshell I'd say, they made for a good choice on a dehydrating day.The chicken satay (Rs. 295) appealed as much in taste as in appearance and melted in my mouth, the peanut sauce completely stole the show, being one of the best I have ever had.
Interestingly enough, the paneer tikka (Rs. 325) was available in 3 colors, white, yellow and green, living up to my expectations in all ways, it's undoubtedly a must try. In contrast you can afford to give the nachos (Rs. 225) a miss.A pleasantly striking innovation came in the form of a cheesy marinade, which broke the monotony of the otherwise ultra boring gobhi and broccoli dishes. What did not appeal to me as much were the bharwaan aloo (Rs. 295) and Kandhariseekh kebab (Rs. 315). The juiciness of the kebab which compliments the oozing flavors was somewhat absent, taking away from the excitement of a true blue kebab lover like me. I had a similar experience with the dahi kebabs (Rs. 315) which turned out to be mediocre, I've definitely had better ones.Things started looking up again with the chilli mushrooms (Rs. 245) which were crisp and perfectly seasoned.Thankfully enough the upward track continued with the pizza Florentine (Rs. 295) with spinach and ricotta cheese, a light hint of sweetness and its lightness made for a delicious delight. The creamy pesto pasta (Rs. 295) is also a great option. Word to the wise, don't miss it.For dessert I settled down to a trio of crème brulee (Rs. 195) which comes in three flavors, vanilla, coffee and strawberry. I'd say it hit the spot. The staff was pleasantly warm, complimenting the soothing ambiance. The warm lighting on the white walls, the aquamarine colors, blissfully merging into the Mediterranean hues of the plush interiors along with the serene sound of falling water, thanks to the gigantic waterfall behind the bar area, greatly escalate the dining experience. There also happens to be an enticing looking private lounge within the premises which are subtly divided into 4 parts. The bar is decent looking and well stocked, adding in yet another way to the already charming and relaxing interiors. So what's the final verdict?
