During the winter season, numerous green vegetables are available to create delicious dishes. Spinach and fenugreek, renowned for their nutritional value, are used in this gram flour cheela. Alongside these greens, spices and carrots are included to enhance its flavour. YouTuber Chef Parul has shared the recipe for this instant Palak Methi Besan Cheela on his YouTube channel. Notably, this recipe comes in two variations—one featuring only spinach and fenugreek in the batter, and the other incorporating protein along with a cheese stuffing.
Benefits of Eating Spinach and Fenugreek:
Spinach: Often termed the superfood of winter, spinach is packed with qualities. Abundant in iron, its consumption prevents anaemia. Spinach also contains various vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, with low-calorie content.
Fenugreek: Another healthy vegetable available in this season, fenugreek is rich in iron, protein, calcium, and vitamin K. Its consumption is considered beneficial for digestion due to a good amount of fibre. It also serves as an excellent addition to a weight-loss diet.
How to Make Palak Methi Cheela for a Healthy Breakfast:
Wash and chop spinach and fenugreek. In a bowl, combine gram flour and semolina.
Add red chilli, celery, chilli flakes, and salt. Mix well.
Combine grated carrots with spinach and fenugreek, then add water to form a batter.
Heat a pan, grease it with oil, and spread the batter in a circular shape.
Roast the cheela on low-medium flame until crispy.
Flip and roast the other side.
Optionally, grate cheese and spread it on the cheela, adding garlic chutney for enhanced taste.
