What better than kickstarting a chilly morning with a hot cup of tea? Absolutely nothing. As the temperature continues to drop, we tend to lose count of the cups of tea or coffee we consume. While we love everything about sipping our favourite hot beverages, a common problem people face during winter is that their glass cups often get cracked. This usually happens when you strain or pour the tea into the glass and the heat is too much for the vessel to handle. And, let us tell you this is not just restricted to the teacups. When you pour a hot liquid into any glass container, it tends to crack. What's the solution to this winter problem? Well, MasterChef Pankaj Bhadouria has found a way to prevent it. In an Instagram post, she shared an easy peasy nuskha to save the glasses from cracking.

In the video, the celebrity chef stated that “to prevent your glass containers from cracking in the winters, all you need is a steel spoon.” She, first, instructed us to place the steel spoon in the glass container and pour the hot liquid on top of it. Now, remove the spoon and voila! The glass containers will not crack.
Explaining the science behind this, master chef Pankaj Bhadouria said, “Metal is a good conductor of heat and glass is a bad conductor of heat.” When a hot liquid is poured into the glass, the inside layer gets hot but the outer region remains cold. As a result, the glass gets cracked. On the other hand, she stated that the metal spoon “absorbs all the heat” hence, the glass container never cracks.
