Mitti Cafe – is more than just a regular cafe. The cafe provides employment opportunities to adults with different physical, mental, and psychiatric abilities, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds. The cafe is founded by Alina Alam. As per the official website, the cafe is a “non-profit organization committed to the cause of employment and livelihoods for people with special needs. We work towards economic independence and dignity for adults with physical, intellectual and psychiatric disabilities and persons from other vulnerable communities. The organisation's outreach initiatives also help create awareness about inclusion and disability rights.”

Who operates Mitti Cafe?
The cafes are managed by over 250 people with special needs. They have served over 10 million meals, so far. So far, they have also curated 2 lakh gift boxes.

Mitti Cafe has 47 outlets in India including the Supreme Court of India, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Gujarat High Court, Bangalore-Mumbai-Lucknow International Airports, India Coffee House, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Wells Fargo, ANZ Bank, IQVIA, Hansraj College, and IIM Bangalore.

Alina Alam is the person behind this unique cafe. Her efforts were recognised by President Droupadi Murmu.
Sharing a video of President Murmu on Instagram, the official Instagram page of the cafe said. “The President of India recognizes Mitti Cafe's journey of empowering PWDs and fostering inclusion. This acknowledgement fuels our mission to celebrate the Magic of Abilities and create a world where everyone thrives.”
