In a recent update, the price of Amul milk has raised by Rs. 2 per litre, across all variants. These new prices have been applicable from today (June 3, 2024), in all the markets of the country, reads a report in PTI. The report further states that the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets the milk and dairy products under the brand 'Amul', explained this step to be the result of overall cost inflation of operation and production of milk.
Jayen Mehta, MD at GCMMF, while talking about the price hike, informed that the brand had earlier increased milk price in February 2023. "The hike is necessitated to compensate farmers for their increased cost of production," he added.
