The video was shared by home cook Anushree, who refers herself as a chef. In the clip, Anushree guides her followers on how she went about preparing the Indian-version of sushi. In the clip, she is seen spreading a layer of sticky rice on a sushi mat. Instead of the traditional sushi fillings, Anushree goes all desi and adds a dollop of pomegranate and garlic chutney, some lacha pyaaz (onions), and tops it off with sukhi dal. With all the ingredients perfectly arranged, she rolls up the mat to form a cylindrical roll. Next, she finishes off by sprinkling some black sesame seeds before cutting it into bite-sized sushi. Hold on, wait for the plating. Placing bite-size sushi on a white plate, Anushree pours a vibrant yellow dal around it.
Alongside the video, she wrote, "Recreated the OG comfort food - dal & rice and turned it into a sushi! I know it's not conventional, but I loved this little creative challenge for myself and the cherry on the top? got mumma's approval!"
