Indian food has found a fan following not just among people of the country, but also all over the world. We have seen international celebrities, food bloggers and television personalities trying their hands at making the dishes of this vast cuisine. The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, has been travelling throughout the country. During his journey, he has made it a point to sample the diverse cuisines of different states. After trying out Hyderabadi biryani and Khubani ka Meetha, Eric Garcetti has now tried the South Indian thali, served in traditional style on a banana leaf.

The tweet was shared on the official handle of the US Ambassador, @USAmbIndia. Eric Garcetti took to Twitter to share the video from his visit to Tamil Nadu Bhawan in Delhi which has already received over 264k views. In the video, we could see him sampling idli, sambhar, cabbage poriyal and more such delightful dishes from Tamilian cuisine. Garcetti used his hands to eat the meal that was served on a banana leaf. He ended it with paal payasaam and a customary filter coffee. "Vanakkam from Tamil Nadu Bhawan in Delhi! Today, I tried the iconic south Indian thali on a banana leaf, and I am so impressed by the complexity of these delicious South Indian delights. Chennai, you have my heart and I am excited to see you soon," he wrote in the caption.
This is not the only food that the US Ambassador enjoyed. His team also welcomed him with a tender coconut filled with refreshing water inside. He seemed to have relished it as much as the food. "Thank you US And Chennai team for this refreshing traditional welcome," he said in the tweet. Take a look:

Meanwhile, the US Ambassador also made it a point to try some local and street-side delights as well. While he was in Ahmedabad, he found a hidden gem serving momos and fries. Praising the mother-daughter duo who runs the stall, he wrote, "Found a hidden gem in Ahmedabad while waiting out the rain for the IPL cricket final. Vaishali's Grill is a mother-daughter team. Mom Vaishali makes incredible momos and peri peri fries. Daughter Priyanka is a photographer and food blogger. I never miss a chance to support women-led businesses." Take a look:
